Think a bit about Weather and computers?

-Since computer models have difficulty in adequately considering the effects of small-scale geographic features on a weather map, why don’t numerical weather forecasts simply reduce the grid spacing to about 1 kilometer?- Please only answer if you know the issues computers have when forecasting weather...Ty.
