Please, help me!!! Tired of dealing with Greedy friends and family?

Up until 3 months ago i had a thriving business of 5 years, cars, money to help others, not splurge but to live comfy and help people that i though really needed it. However due to the tough times and the economy I was forced to shut my biz down, voluntarily repo' my car, get government t and I am going thru a divorce. I am in foreclosure & had to move because my home has tainted drywall. So I am now living in a apt that roaches would'nt care to live in. But I here until I can do better, which will be very soon. Everyone knows my situation, they do, I have told everyone. But people still are calling asking me for wedding gifts, babyshower gifts, money, Plant Tickets, birthdays, graduations ect. I didnt atttend any of these functions because I didnt have money, nor did they attend mine. I paid for my own babyshower and got married at the courthouse, lol. I hate to just cut everyone off but Damn. My friends and family are worse than bill collectors. I am at the point where it just sickens me. Please I need real advice. I mean do I sound like someone with money??
